RepeatWith property doesn't appear to work

The RepeatWith property doesn't appear to work. I have named an element (a
table) that in is the same ReportItems collection but the object is only
displayed on the first page of the report.
ThanksIt doesn't work in designer preview or PDF but it will work in HTML.

Why not? Will this be corrected soon? I need this functionality. Is there
a work around?|||You can put your contents to repeat in a header / footer and set them to
repeat on new pages.

This doesn't work because it appears that you cannot have dynamic content in
the report header and footer. Is there another work around?|||Not the page header and footer. The table or group header and footer.

Okay, Thanks.

repeatwith property

I have tried for days to get certain textboxes and tables in page body

to repeat on multiple page reports

Any help is appreciated.

Hello,

The repeatwith property is not available on tables and is not supported by physical paginated renderes.

However, the RepeateOnNewPage property of table&group headers and footers is supported by all renderers.

Thank you,

Nico

RepeatWith problem

I have a report where, among other things, I want to show a multi-page table
with some text on top of each page containing that table. So I placed a
textbox above the table and set the RepeatWith property of that textbox to
repeat with the table.
But when I run the report , the textbox is not there (except on the first
page).
However if I place the same textbox next to the table (on either side) then
the textbox shows up with each new page. Is this by design or is this a bug?
Does RepeatWith actually mean RepeatNextTo?Isaak,
I had a similar issue however I put both the textbox and the table inside
a list box to keep them together. Both were tied to the same dataset (since
I had read that could be an issue). and I had the box checked on the advanced
properties of the textbox to repeat item with data region on new page ==> and
the data region was the table just below it. It didnt work. I had to
abandon that idea and create a TABLE HEADER which contained the field that I
wanted to put in the textbox. I checked to repeat table header on each new
page ... and I have been able to see that work perfectly for my situation.
Hope this helps you ... I would *still* like to know why the Repeat Item is
NOT working ... as the table header solution wont be useful in all cases.

this is an outstanding issue with Reporting Services 2005. Microsoft has
scheduled a fix for the problem in the next release of SQL Server, which
should be available in 18-24 months.

RepeatWith not working

Hi,
I have listing with a few rectangles and one table in it.
One two recetangles at top of page I have set the RepeatWith to be set to
name of the table (table1).
When the table spans multiple pages, I would expect that the two rectangles
would be repeated at the top of the page.
This does not work. The RepeatWith property appears to have no effect.
Is there is good work-around or fix for this?
What I am trying to accomplish is having a few header values and a logo
repeated on all pages.
Thanks,
KevinI'm not sure how to use RepeatWith, but have you tried using a page
header? In the report designer, go to the Report menu, select Page
Header. Then put your logo etc in the page header area.

placed there.
I found on a MS blog a work-around to use a Report Parameter to be able to
place dataset value into Page Header but this did not update to correct /
current value of the listing but remained with the value of the first
record.

RepeatWith in SSRS

I have a text box which is set to repeat with a list.
When I use Preview or when Deployed, the RepeatWith does not work and the
text box only apears on the first page.
Im new to SSRS and it's probabley something realy simple, but I have not
been able to find the answer anywhere.

The main export format that supports the 'repeat with' functionality
is web archive. You might try 'repeat with' for a different report
control (i.e., w/a table control, etc). Sorry that I could not be of
greater assistance.

Enrique Martinez
Sr. Software Consultant|||Thanks for your reply, the issue is not with export as the RepeatWith does
not seem work at all.
I am using the List Function as I cannot use a matrix as there are multiple
lines for each record being reported on, I have a Text Box above the List
which is set to RepeatWith the List, but it just appears on the first page
and does not repeat on any subsequent page, this happens when running the
report with Visual Studio, running the Report once deployed or when the
report has been printed.

Repeatwith doesnt work (for me)

Hi

I am using vs 2005 and sql server 2005 with reporting serices.

I have a report with a body that has a two nested lists.

The inner list is called List2 and the outer list is called List1.

The outer list contains fields such as Company Name.

The inner list contains other details

If the inner list goes to a new page, i would like to have the outer list fields repeat.

From what i have read, i should set the repeatwith value of each field in the outer list to the inner list name.

It couldnt be more simple, but i cant get it to work?

Is this a known bug? Do i need a patch? Am i doing something wrong?

Thanx

Jerry Cicierega

Certainly someone has bumped into this issue? Anyone? :-)|||

Try putting all the field in the outer list, in one rectangle and set the RepeatWith property of the Rectangle to list2 (inner list)

Shyam

|||I tried what Shyam suggested but it didn't work. Has anyone been able to get the RepeatWith property to do what it says it's supposed to do (The name of the data region with which this report item should be repeated if the data region spans multiple pages)?
